The core practice in Stav is a moving meditation based on the runes. This is a flowing series of movements co-ordinated with the breath, that corrects posture, stretches and tones the body, and through correct breathing, improves health. The mind is settled by this practice, and over time, this brings greater clarity, concentration and awareness.
Once learned, the basic sequence takes about twenty minutes to perform, depending on the practitioner. Variations exist in breathing patterns and so on, for different purposes. For instance, a form exists for deeper meditation, and another for hardening the body for martial arts.
