Northanhymbre-Ve teaches the Runic traditions of the Hafskjold family, known as "Stav". This encompasses:
The foundations of Stav are the practical, philosophical and martial traditions of pre-Christian Scandinavia. Stav is not a reconstruction, nor an attempt to escape into the past. It is a living tradition with its roots long into the past. The primary aim in practicing Stav is to see reality.
Why "Northanhymbre-Ve"?
"Ve" means "Holy Place", where spiritual practices (meditation, etc.) are carried out, or (as in this case) an institution for teaching the same. "Northanhymbre" is a nod to the past, as it was the original name given to Northumberland by the early Anglo settlers who shared their culture with the Norse. "Northanhymbre Ve" teaches in and around the North East of England.
